New Delhi: Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane likely to visit Ladakh later this week to review operational preparedness.

India had changed the rules of engagement along the LAC after the dangerous clash with China. Also the rules of engagement had been change by the commanders have now been given the powers allowing them the use of firearms under extraordinary circumstances.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the meeting with the CDS and three service chiefs also said that the forces have been given full freedom to deal with any form of Chinese aggression along the LAC.

Meanwhile, Indian Forces have been put up on high alert and have been asked to maintain a strict vigil on the Chinese activities around the border, airspace and important sea lanes.

India and China agree to disengage from friction points in eastern Ladakh: Sources

Vrishank Mahatme Leh: The commander level talks between the Indian and Chinese Army have arrived at a mutual consensus to "disengage" from all friction points in eastern Ladakh sector after the  marathon meeting of top military commanders of the two sides on Monday. "There was a mutual consensus to disengage. Modalities for disengagement from all friction areas in Eastern Ladakh were discussed and will be taken forward by both the sides".
