New Delhi: India will try and urge Russia to fast-track delivery of S-400 Triumf Missile system during Defence Minister's Rajnath Singh 3 day visit to Moscow amidst the escalating tensions at the LAC.

As per sources, Russia has delayed the delivery of $5.4 billion dollar system to December 2021 as a result of constrains due to the global Covid19 pandemic.

"The visit to #Russia will give me an opportunity to hold talks on ways to further deepen the #India-#Russia defence and strategic partnership" the Defence Minister tweeted before leaving for Russia today 

Defence Minister will pay a visit to Moscow to attend the Victory Parade on June 24, 2020 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War. The Parade is organised to honour the heroism and sacrifices made by the Russian and other friendly people. Defence Minister of the Russian FederationMr Sergey Shoigu has invited Raksha Mantri to the Victory Parade, which was originally scheduled on May 9, 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Indian Forces have been put up on high alert and have been asked to maintain a strict vigil on the Chinese activities around the border, airspace and important sea lanes.
