Major General level talks between India and China are underway at Ladakh.

NEW DELHI: Amidst the standoff between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC),Major General level talks between India and China are underway at Ladakh in a bid to dissolve the tensions and restart the de-escalation process agreed earlier this month.
The high level talks between India-China commanders is currently going on at Moldo, which is at the Chinese side of LAC. The meeting will try to reach agreements on deescalation.
It may be noted that India had changed the rules of engagement along the LAC after the dangerous clash with China. Also the rules of engagement had been change by the commanders have now been given the powers allowing them the use of firearms under extraordinary circumstances.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the meeting with the CDS and three service chiefs also said that the forces have been given full freedom to deal with any form of Chinese aggression along the LAC.
Meanwhile, Indian Forces have been put up on high alert and have been asked to maintain a strict vigil on the Chinese activities around the border, airspace and important sea lanes.
It may be recalled that Indian Army lost 20 brave men, including a Colonel, during the hand-to-hand combat with Chinese troops at Galwan Valley on the intervening night of June 15 and 16. The clash took place on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control.
